The scale was chosen to keep the photograph restrained and atmospheric rather than monumental. The image is not primarily about close-up detail, but about the feeling of a temporarily emptied workplace: white coats hanging unused, pale walls, blue-green tiles, dispensers, fire signage, and a corridor-like space suspended between labour, maintenance, and absence.
Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta was selected for its balance of photographic clarity and quiet surface depth. It preserves the soft colour relationships — white fabric, faded institutional tile, red safety markings, muted wall tones — while still giving the image enough density and detail to feel like a finished fine-art object.
The print is mounted on Aluminium Dibond to keep the object flat, stable, and precise. This suits the photograph’s utilitarian subject matter: the presentation remains clean and architectural without becoming decorative.
The silver 10 mm Aluminium ArtBox extends the institutional material language of the image. Its cool metallic edge subtly echoes the hooks, rails, fixtures, and workplace surfaces, while the shallow profile keeps the object modest and restrained. The 2 cm white border gives the image breathing room, allowing the desolate atmosphere to remain quiet rather than compressed.
The result is a modestly scaled fine-art object focused on absence, suspended function, and the strange stillness of an everyday working environment.
