The format was chosen to keep the photograph intimate rather than monumental. The image is not dependent on extreme close-up detail, but on atmosphere: a quiet institutional passage, blue lockers, pale tiled flooring, a stroller, translucent partitions, signage, and the slightly suspended feeling of a public interior between uses.
Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta was selected for its balance between photographic clarity and fine-art surface. The baryta paper supports the subtle colour relationships in the image — the cool blue lockers, green WC sign, cream walls, grey floor, and soft interior light — without making the scene feel overly glossy or decorative.
The print is mounted on Aluminium Dibond to keep the object flat, stable, and precise. This suits the photograph’s architectural and documentary character: the work remains clean and restrained, with enough material presence to feel finished but not so much that the presentation overpowers the image.
The silver 10 mm Aluminium ArtBox extends the visual language of the scene. Its cool metallic edge echoes the lockers, pole, fittings, and institutional materials, while remaining shallow enough to preserve the photograph’s quiet, liminal quality. The 2 cm white border gives the image breathing room and makes the presentation feel more deliberate, like a collected observation rather than a decorative interior print.
The result is a restrained fine-art object: modest in scale, precise in presentation, and focused on colour, atmosphere, and the quiet unease of an everyday transitional space.
