A small white butterfly rests among deep green leaves, caught between sunlight, shade, and the softness of the surrounding foliage. The image is shaped by a natural chiaroscuro: bright, fragile wings emerging from a dense field of shadowed greens, with the surrounding leaves alternating between illumination and darkness.

Near the lower right edge, a small fly appears almost incidentally, adding a second, quieter point of life inside the frame. Its presence makes the photograph feel less staged and more observed: a small ecosystem caught in passing rather than a single isolated subject.

The restrained grain structure gives the image a tactile, film-like surface, allowing the softness to feel intentional rather than overly smooth. Presented with a wide ivory passe-partout and dark alder-brown wooden frame, the work has a quiet, enclosed presence: intimate, natural, and slightly dreamlike.
